2014 marks a major change in NLS. In the past, our monthly meetings were held face-to-face in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, at our company/corporate sponsor's address. Since 2012, the society has been becoming more and more international in membership, and, to better accommodate our new membership profile, the society voted to have all future meetings online in the form of an ongoing, asynchronous meeting. Members are invited to prepare a 15 to 30 minute audio-video presentation or a PowerPoint/Keynote presentation saved as a Quicktime movie (.mov).

2014 Neurobiological Learning Society Meeting Presentations

The Importance of Localization in Understanding Brain Function
(still under construction - should be available in mid-2015)

Presented by Dr. Behzad Saberi, MD, Researcher in Clinical Neuroscience, Esfahan, Iran; Vice-President of the Neurobiological Learning Society, Honolulu, HI, USA and
Dr. Prof. Phillip L. Pearl, MD, Director of Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology, Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA

This presentation will include a review by Dr. Saberi of Drs. Phillip L. Pearl and Helene A. Emsellem's new book, NEURO-LOGIC: A PRIMER ON LOCALIZATION and an interview with Dr. Pearl. It will explore the "era of brain mapping" and the search for constantly evolving new techniques for integrated structural/functional localization. Localization of specific functions and problems to areas within the brain can lead to a better understanding of the various aspects of learning -- one of the most complex processes of the human brain -- as well as better treatments for diseases.
All 2014 presentations are free and open to the public. To view and listen to a 2014 presentation, click on the presentation title.
